Celebrate International Women’s Day!

Today is International Women’s Day, and I dedicate this blog post to my mom, Matilde (that’s us in 1985).

According to the organization’s website: “International Women’s Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.” So what better to celebrate this special day than with every woman’s favorite pastime? Shopping!

I just discovered a unique and exciting eco-friendly designer who’s products are the epitome of luxury. Enter the Vegan Queen: Polish designer, artist, musician, vegan and fashionista Evelina Kulikovsky. Among other things, she was one of the top 5 nominees (out of 205) for the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize! Evelina is certainly a woman to be celebrated. Started in 2007, “Vegan Queen’s mission is to promote a luxurious healthy lifestyle, while insuring a sustainable future.” The company only uses the finest eco-luxurious materials: natural, organic, non-toxic and recycled. In addition, the company uses 100% carbon-offesetting shipping methods which support and help build new renewable energy projects.

So tell your mom, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother and girlfriends today how much you love and respect them. And then check out some of the Vegan Queen’s gorgeous eco-friendly and über-fashionable bags. Love you, Mom!
