Get a whif of this!

What is breathable, biodegradable, delicious and has zero calories? LeWhif, of course! This ingenious creation by Harvard professor David Edwards is the world’s only breathable chocolate. Developed by Edwards’ ArtScience Labs network, LeWhif is biodegradable, organic and contains less than one calorie.

Eating chocolate is so fleeting. As the saying goes “A moment on my lips; a lifetime on my hips.” And really, the best part of eating chocolate is the first few seconds after it passes your lips and melts on your tongue. Then you swallow and repeat steps 1 and 2 several times…until you realize you finished the whole bar/box/package of chocolates. Then the taste of chocolate turns to guilt and gluttony when it comes all those calories.

“LeWhif is a new delicious approach to eating by breathing. With LeWhif, we inhale food, like chocolate, into our mouths and taste it, without chewing, an experience of flavor without a single calorie.”

LeWhif comes in a very exciting package and in 4 exciting flavors: pure chocolate, mint chocolate, raspberry chocolate and coffee. You can enjoy these delicious tastes by inhaling the air through your mouth. The chocolate particles fall gently on your tongue, while your olfactory senses are delighted by the rich flavors…and no calories!

A professor of biomedical engineering at Harvard University, David Edwards is founder of ArtScience Labs. He is also co-designer and collaborator of the ANDREA (see ANDREA in the House). ArtScience Labs  is Edwards’ international network of art and design labs experimenting at frontiers of science with a base at the cultural center Le Laboratoire in Paris, France. ArtScience Labs provides a new innovation model in which breakthrough ideas evolve through encounters of art and design with science to produce experiential learning, cultural exhibition, product development, and humanitarian engagement.
