Earth Day: Gone Shopping

April is my favorite month! It was my birthday on April 19th, it’s the beginning of spring, my favorite season…and it’s a month-long celebration and appreciation of our Earth. So, in honor of all these wonderful things happening in April, I say let’s all go shopping!  On April 22nd, help CB2 celebrate Earth Day and give Mother Nature some much-needed love. The modern home furnishings brand will plant a tree for every purchase made in-store and online, in partnership with American Forests. Did you know that American Forests will plant over 5 million trees in 2011 through its Global ReLeaf  program? Since 1990, American Forests has planted nearly 40 million trees in more than 600 projects across the United States and the world.

The funky, urban sister brand to Crate and Barrel, CB2 offers affordable, modern furnishings and unique accessories for apartment, loft and home. With sleek, modern lines, bright, punchy colors and crisp attention to detail, you’re sure to find everything you need, as well as plenty of eco-friendly options too!

I suggest the Abuela or Abuelo bike as your Earth Day purchase.  These stylish, retro city-bikes are perfect for a beautiful spring day. With this bike, you’ll feel good knowing your purchase and mode of transportation are helping to save the Earth! Developed in tandem with Republic Bike, the Abuela and Abuelo put a modern spin on the classic Dutch omafiets (grandma’s bikes) with grey gloss steel step-through frame and fenders, upright commuter handlebars with red stitched grips, red classic button saddle seat, and eye-catching Kenda yellow balloon tires.

Already have a bike? How about a hanging garden? Don’t drive yourself up a wall trying to figure out how to plant a lush garden when space is limited. Use the CB2 Woolly Pocket Outdoor Wall Planter to breathe new life into an outdoor space. Made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, this breathable material allows for natural aeration of the soil as well as excess water to drain. The Woolly Pocket planters are great for ferns, succulents, flowering plants and herbs.
